U-Blog 6
Well the time has come for classes to end and exam week to murder our brains. I for one am completely burnt out. School for me the last two semesters have been completely demoralizing. I lack that drive to be the best and make A's in all my classes. I'm so close to graduating yet I am not finishing the job. I continue to learn multiple skills but I dont understand how I would use them in the real world. There should be more classes where students are taught the hands off approach. Dr. Keane you are the voice of reason. Help the future students out!

U-Blog 5
Well not a whole lot has happen recently in class. However, since my last blog we did have a new AITP meeting and they brought in a very old man to talk about very old computers that us current students will never ever see. He completely bored the living crap out of all of us. I would rather talk about present and future technologies. The next meeting subject is about pc and video gaming will will relate to more of us and ultimately pull more students in so we can have our own student AITP organization.

U-Blog 4
Well I went to the Heritage at the Lowman homes this past Wednesday. There were about 8 people that turned out. The lesson for the day was learning how to setup an email account and using it. They were pretty scared of the computer and even more computer illiterate. However, they were willing to learn and very excited about the possibility of sending emails back and forth to loved ones. Since we all will have to teach a class out there eventually, be prepared to have lots of patience and fun. They were fun and gracious!

U-Blog 3
Today an assignment was due that took us through different articles and test to familiarize ourselves with the way we prefer to learn and make intelligent decisions. My whole life I have always been a person that liked to do something physical instead of being told what to do. I have always thought making sure the person you are teaching has to do it themselves because the physically see the steps and will most often remember them easier in the future. After taking the test I saw the proof that I am a visual learner. It has helped me learn different activities easier especially at work.

U-Blog 2
Well I read our assignment for this semester where we have to go to The Heritage at Lowman. I am pretty excited that we get to teach a bunch of old folks. Yea it will be a blast. Haha I'm just kidding around but I really am excited. I want to teach other people how to function in a world where computers are an everyday, all day machine that is used. It is going to be fun yet a little aggravating due to their lack of skill.

U-Blog 1
I want to talk a bit about Internet Skills. Everyone should have read the Internet Skills article and understand where I am coming from. Never has it been more apparent that anyone with better computer or internet skills hold a higher accord compared to others. People who are unfamiliar with the internet come off as mentally challenged. Our generation perceives that everyone should know how to use it. At my current job, everyone there is still stuck on physical paper to do all paper work and we are currently moving everything electronic and I went from a bottom feeder to the man in control of things just based on my knowledge of the internet and computers. As the years pass more and more people will begin to familiarize themselves with this other world and ignorance will decline.

Workplace Learning
When reading the various articles on workplace learning I have seen that one of the major problems is working with and managing multiple generations of employees. Some companies have three different generations of workers and learning how to manage each differently to get a task done is a challenge. It’s important to note that each workplace is unique and may feel the impact of supporting an increasingly diverse workforce in different ways. In other words, what works extremely well for one organization may not necessarily work for another because of age differences.

Blog #1
Hi, I'm Seth Harrelson. I am 26 years old. I was born in a small town called Mullins. For people that do not know where that is at is about 1 hour on the other side of Florence. I have two younger sisters. I went to high school in Mullins in 2000 and went on to college. I graduated for Florence-Darlington Tech in 2003 with an Associates in Computer Technology. I went on to work for Trillion Communications which is based out of Austin, Texas. I was and Wireless WAN Technician for 2 years. I then decided to go back to school in 2006 and now I am a senior in the TSTM curriculum. I graduate in December of 2009.
